NEW HOME OF KGA STUDIOS
Sun Life Assurance Building
Another Milestone has been placed on the road of Progress in the radio world and KGA of Spokane, Washington, on of the super-power stations of the chain owned and operated by the American Broadcasting Company brought this about by the recent move to the Sun Life Assurance Building, the most beautiful structure in the City of Spokane.
The imposing building is of white tile terra cotta and finished throughout in marble and especially selected woodwork.
On entering, one is completely awed, by the elaborateness of approach and entering the vestibule one is immediately impressed with the artistic arrangement of marble ferneries filled with gorgeous palms and ferns leading up to the main lobby, which through the choice selection and arrangement of furnishings reflects an atmosphere of warmth and beauty.
KGA studios occupy the northeast wing on the top floor and the original ideas of beauty and decoration have been closely adhered to in the finishing of KGA's new home.
The beautiful reception of the studio is outfitted in appropriate wicker furniture and also a new massive cabinet style, seven tube synchrophase Grebe, so that the guests may enjoy the programs as they go out on the air.
The draperies are of the very latest patterns in heavy silk brocaded damask, the blue and gold coloring being used in the small studio and offices, while gold taupe gold and rose draperies are effectively draped in the large studio and the entire floor space is done in exquisite rose-taupe carpet.
In the announcing room the doors have electric locks with electric push buttons. To gain entrance to the room, you push this button which lights a signal light by the announcer who in turn presses the control switch that automatically releases the door ketches. These electric locks are placed on the doors to keep people from entering the announcing room and disturbing the announcer.
There has been no change in the broadcasting station at the north city limits and are broadcasting over the same wave length. The studios were formerly located in the Old National Bank.
